No More Android OS Updates for HTC One X Users:

HTC has confirmed that it wont be deploying any more OS updates for users of the One X and X+ smartphones.
The latest updates for the handsets was for Android 4.2, and users had been hoping for an update to KitKat, but this is not to be.
In a comment from the Dutch and later confirmed by their UK counterparts, HTC told a company watcher that there wouldn't be any more updates.
There is still the option to root the device and update the OS manually, but there wont be an official upgrade.

Fake Phone Accessories Seized in London:

Trading standards officers in West London, UK have seized hundreds of unsafe phone chargers, USB devices and phone accessories from four businesses based in the area.
Fake mobile phone chargers, USB devices and mobile phone accessories using unauthorised Apple, Sony, LG, Nokia, Windows, HTC and Samsung trade marks were all seized following an investigation into counterfeit goods.
Trading standards officers from Ealing led the operation with support from other local councils. Local police and Home Officer Immigration and Enforcement officers were also present.
As part of the operation, four electronics and mobile phone accessory wholesalers, all based at the same light industrial estate, were visited to ensure the goods being sold met safety and quality standards. A number of specialists including computer forensics, product safety and counterfeit expert officers and a dog team were also involved.
Ealing Council leader, Councillor Julian Bell, said: "This raid has taken approximately £500,000 worth of dodgy products off the market. It's disgusting that businesses are disregarding the safety of our residents by selling these products. We are taking the issue at its root by going after the wholesalers."

Sony Mobile Reportedly Working on Microsoft Based Smartphone:

Ongoing rumours that Sony Mobile may launch a Windows Phone based smartphone have been given a boost from fresh reports that it is indeed working on such a device.
Citing two unnamed sources, The Information wrote that Sony Mobile could be launching a Windows phone as soon as the middle of this year.
Now that Micorsoft is buying Nokia, it is seen to need to expand the range of handset manufacturers supporting its WP software lest it end up becoming a single platform OS.
Microsoft has been reportedly in talks with ZTE and HTC in recent months, with the issue of lowering the cost of the OS being the main topic of negotiation.

Microsoft asks HTC to add Windows to Android phones:

MICROSOFT is talking to HTC about adding its Windows operating system to HTC’s Android-based smartphones at little or no cost, people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg. Terry Myerson, head of Microsoft’s operating systems unit, asked HTC last month to load Windows Phone as a second option on handsets with Google’s rival software. Myerson discussed cutting or eliminating the Windows licence fee to make the idea more attractive, the report said. The talks are preliminary and no decision has been made, two people said.
HTC, the first company to make both Windows and Android phones, hasn’t unveiled a new Windows-based handset since June and has no current plans to release any more, said one person. Myerson was planning to visit Asia this month and meet with senior executives at Taiwan-based HTC to discuss his proposal, according to the report.
To grow the Windows market share, Microsoft is trying to line up other new partners. CEO Steve Ballmer and other executives met with handset makers last week during a trip to Beijing, said a person with knowledge of their trip. They stressed that Microsoft wants to keep working with partners other than Nokia, and expects to be able to sign accords with some phone makers who previously have focused on Android, the report said.
