Ghana based Blu Telecom says that it plans to start services, with an LTE network in the third quarter of this year.
The company paid US$6 million for its license last year, and has committed to spending "tens of millions of dollars" on its initial network deployment. They have also pledged to match the retail prices of the incumbent 3G network operators.
Huawei is the network infrastructure supplier.
Blu Telecoms, was one of three companies awarded Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) licenses in June 2013 at a cost of US$6 million each. The other two license holders are Surfline Telecoms and Goldkey Telecoms.
