Thailand's TrueMove Facing Investigation Over Phones Promotion:

Thailand's telecoms regulator has confirmed that it is investigating a swathe of complaints from TrueMove customers after a promotion appeared to go wrong.
TrueMove urgently needs to migrate customers from its expired GSM network concession to its affiliate's 3G network, and pledged to offer 2 million free 3G phones to migrating customers.
Customers who owned an existing 3G handset were asked to switch over to the 3G network, and were told that in exchange for doing so by the end of last October, they would get a new 3G handset at the end of December.
Customers started complaining at the start of this year, when they received an SMS saying they would not get the free phone because they did not comply with the conditions.
