Telenor has named a new CEO for its Indian subsidiary, Uninor. Morten Karlsen Sørby, a Norwegian national, joined Telenor in 1993 and has been a member of the Group's executive management team since 2003.
He most recently served as the Executive Vice President in charge of corporate strategy and regulatory affairs in Telenor Group.
"I have actively contributed to the development of our India operations since we first entered in 2008, and now I look forward to joining the remarkable Uninor organization." said Morten Karlsen Sørby, CEO of Uninor.
Uninor currently serves more than 26 million customers in six of the country's circles.
Morten Karlsen Sørby's nomination as CEO of Uninor is subject to regulatory approvals. Sigve Brekke continues as earlier in his role as Executive Vice President and Head of Telenor Group's Asia Operations.
