Mobile payments processor, WePay says that it has secured an additional US$15 million in investment, lead by Phil Purcell of Continental Investors, co-founder of the Discover Card and former CEO of Morgan Stanley.
The company also confirmed that it will switch its legacy direct customers from its own platform to those provided by third-parties through its API service.
They said that they now have over 300 great platforms built upon their API system, ranging from marketplaces to small business software providers.
In a blog post, one of the co-founders, Bill Clerico said that "we're thrilled to have an investor like Continental join the team because of their depth of experience both in payments and in later stage/public markets."
