Droplr Drops Free File Sharing Service:

The file sharing service, Droplr has announced that it is dropping its free service and will switch to a paid-for service only in the future.
The company, which was founded by a couple of friends who wanted to share files with each other is now a much larger operation with mobile and desktop apps.
The company said that it will be releasing an upgraded app next week, at which point it will also kill off the free version of its service.
All existing users will get 30 days access to the paid service for a free trial, but after that they have to pay, but will also be grandfathered into a 30% lifetime discount on the monthly charges.
There will however be a referral programme which will offer some level of free access when a recommendation leads to a new customer -- although they are still working on the details.
