Belgium's government has named Dominque Leroy as the new CEO of Belgacom for a six-year term.
Belgacom had to start looking for a new CEO after the government, which owns a majority stake in the firm sacked the incumbent CEO, Didier Bellens last November following his repeated clashes with the government.
Dominque Leroy has been working at Belgacom since 2011 and has been Executive Vice President of the Consumer Business Unit since 2012. She is also on the Board of Lotus Bakeries.
Chairman Stefaan De Clerck said that he is convinced that under Dominique Leroy's leadership, Belgacom will be able to meet the challenges appearing on the horizon. She can rely on the support of the Belgacom team, assured that it will collaborate fully on this important task.
