All three of Senegal's mobile networks are expected to have deployed LTE networks within the next few weeks, although initially just a test platforms.
Orange has already built a pilot LTE network in parts of Dakar and Saly, while the two remaining networks, Tigo and Expresso should launch networks by the end of this month.
The telecoms regulator has already granted temporary 4G licenses to the networks, although those would need to be made permanent before commercial services can be offered to customers.
Earlier this year the regulator was said to be planning to allocate a fourth mobile license, although that appears to have died down recently.
