The Liberian mobile network operator, Atlantic Wireless (Libercell) has been accused of not paying outstanding regulatory fees totalling US$1.1 million to the government.
The company was ordered by a court to make the payment last December, but new court documents had been presented showing that the amount is still outstanding.
The court now has the authority to force the sale of the company -- as it has threatened to do in the past -- to settle the debt.
The court has given the company a last chance to make the payment to the government.
The taxes are back-dated for the past three years. The network was temporarily shut-down last July by the regulator pending the payment of the arrears.
